Tips for Bridal Makeup

Wedding Day is the most important day in the life of a woman and every young girl desire to look at her best on this blessed day in her life. Here are some tips to make you look as gorgeous as a queen:

  • It is always advisable to synchronize your makeup with the bridal outfit and jewelry. If they are extremely heavy, then you should prefer to get light makeup done on the day.
  • When you have chosen a make-up artist, organize a trial around 1-2 months before the wedding.
  • The style you choose for your wedding make-up will ultimately depend on your personal preference, but there are some other factors to consider:
  • Get your facials done one week before the wedding.
  • If you are Blond or fair skinned, cool tones of grey, blue, soft pink and lilac are ideal.
  • Use toner on your face first and apply moisturizer, to enable better blending of foundation/concealer.
  • Use heavy-pigmented cream foundation and layer it with powder foundation to make the skin look smoother. Foundations with yellow undertones work best with flash photography.
  • Work your foundation onto the face with fingers in circular motions, working one area at a time, say from forehead down one side of face, then down the other side with quick motion. Blend downwards and outwards with a dry sea or makeup sponge.
  • Use powder foundation on neck, ears and chest too so that you don't seem to have a painted face.
  • Hide the under eye circles by applying concealer. Blend it towards the nose and use downward strokes.
  • Always go for a lip-liner that is the same shade as your lipstick. Otherwise, you might end up with a lip-line that is too noticeable. At the same time, always stick to long-lasting lipsticks, for your wedding.
  • Thin and small lips look more sensuous with light lip colors while fuller lips can use deep shades.
  • Keep away from shimmer highlighters as this look will not show up well in photos and give a reflective shine.
  • Apply two layers of waterproof mascara, having few seconds pause between, to avoid smudging Make sure you use smudge proof eye makeup. Wedding ceremonies take a longer time and you might rub the eyes accidentally.
  • Use a brow pencil slightly darker than your hair color and avoid heavy, dark shadows. Use light peach eye shadow as eyelid base.
  • Eyeliner should be applied close to base of eyelashes to make them look thicker. A soft pencil is easier to manage.
  • If you have dark circles under your eyes, don't apply eyeliner until dark circles are covered with concealer Or else your eyes will become too dark.
  • Remember, you have to balance the eye makeup with lip makeup. In case you want to go for dramatic eyes, go for a light-color lip shade. If you are using a dark lipstick, it is better to have natural, light eyes.
  • It is advisable to go for a light dusting of translucent powder, so that your face does not end up shining too much. You can also apply bronzing powder to warm your skin tone and get a natural glow.
  • Ask your mum or one of your bridesmaids to carry a powder compact, tissues and lipstick for touch ups during the day.
So go for that special makeup that will make you special on the most important day of your life. But keep in mind that your make should match your hairstyle and dress and it should be simple and elegant. It should not look overdone.
